Our story
A beekeeper from Kurnool who got tired of fake honey
Kanna Natural Honey started because Kuruva Sunkanna could not find honey in a shop that tasted like the honey he harvested himself.
How it began
Kurnool sits at the edge of the Nallamala forest range — one of the richest wild-bee belts in Andhra Pradesh. Kuruva Sunkanna grew up around beekeepers who worked those slopes, lifting combs at the end of each flowering season and selling honey in whatever jars they could find.
When he started buying honey from the market, something was off. It never crystallised. It smelled of nothing. It tasted the same in January as it did in June, no matter which brand he picked. Real honey does not behave that way — it changes with the flowers, the rain and the season.
So he went back to doing it the old way, at a small scale, and selling directly. No middlemen, no blending, no heating to make it look pretty on a shelf. That is all Kanna Natural Honey is.
What we promise
- Nothing added. No sugar syrup, no glucose, no preservatives, no colour.
- Nothing removed. Pollen and natural enzymes stay in. We filter wax out, and that is it.
- No heating. Honey never goes above the temperature it sat at inside the hive.
- Single origin. Each batch comes from one flowering season, labelled with it.
- Traceable. Call us and we will tell you which apiary your jar came from.
